Juneteenth Artist

Meet Our Juneteenth Artist

Lamon Jarmon, the recent winner of our 2024 Black History Month Reflection Contest, was chosen to do the artwork for Hoover-AHEAD’s Juneteenth Celebration. You can find his artwork on the event poster and on the Juneteenth Website.

A student at Hoover High School, Lamon is an impressive artist, even at the age of 15. He creates portraits, life sketches, and graffiti designs (in a sketchbook). He also enjoys programming and graphic design, which often intertwine with his art: designing assets for a game or designing a poster/ website.

We are grateful for his willingness to work on the Juneteenth Celebration and hope that you will enjoy his work and take the time to meet him at Hoover-AHEAD’s Juneteenth Celebration on June 15.
